I am the google queen. Because of this, Lili’s Dr. visit was basically a big waste of time and money. The Doc didn’t have any advice or info to share with us about Reflux that we didn’t already know. Poopy.
Would it be inappropriate for me to throw a grown up sized tantrum for my daughter? I really just want to stomp my feet and throw heavy breakable things. I am so frustrated and angry. I was so hoping for a solution to my babes troubles.
The Doc did suggest doing an ultrasound on her little belly. An ultrasound would be able to tell us if she is allergic to milk or if it is just reflux that is causing her so much pain. Also as of today under Mr. Doc’s orders, I am cutting out all milk/milk products in my diet. The idea is if she is doing better in one week, dairy would be the culprit. If she’s not doing better we can assume that it is just reflux and there is no quick and easy solution for her. Either diagnose sucks. I am not sure that the ultrasound is even needed, but we will see. I’d like to know another doctor’s opinon on doing ultrasounds for reflux babies. I don’t think it is a common practice. Anyone out there know?
He stopped her medication for now since it wasn’t working anyways, and gave us some drops we can use only when it gets really bad. At one point do we declare that it is really bad? When she has been screaming for 3 hours non stop, or when she is choking on her own saliva?
From Lili’s perspective the world must suck the big one. No one can help her. It hurts to eat. Frustrating to sleep. She cries for hours on end. Her throat aches. Her chest burns. Poor baby.
My heart aches for her.
On a really great note, can you believe that she weighs 9.9lbs? I am shocked. Baby’s got fat. Love it! Her weight gain is phenomenal for a reflux baby! Also she is sleeping great at night again. She needs all the sleep she can get.
Thanks everyone for praying for her today. Please don’t stop!
Sorry about your baby girl… I wish I could help. I had to cut out dairy for a while with Bean… not easy but it helped and after a few weeks I was able to slowly go back to normal… He just needed so time for his tummy to adjust. Love you friend
thanks Bekah. I am really hoping its not a milk allergy. I don’t want to go down that road with her. But if she feels better, i’d do anything….
oh and I like that JM is drinking so much coke. As of tomorrow michael and I are going to try to cut it out for awhile… see if we can do it
miss you guys
After having 2 reflux babies I can say that having them sleep upright really helps. Our baby swing reclined and so we were able to have both boys sleep in the non-moving swing until they were 6 months old. Also we found that the only solution was chiropractic treatment. We found an amazing chiropractor specialiazing in children and she made all of the difference for my boys.
