This Saturday I dragged my hubby and three kids out to the middle of nowhere to visit an antiquish furniture store that I had heard about from one of my favorite blogs I stalk read. Heard of MckMama? I have fond memories of following my parents around flea markets when I was Bella’s age, so of course I thought that this would be the perfect Saturday outing, and photo op. Right?
Well, not so much. The drive there was beautiful. Of course I kept my eye out for MckMama, but no such luck. Instead we took in awesome snow hills, pretty trees, and cool barns.
Michael and I spent the whole time dreaming of what it would be like to actually own a house out there. Lovely. But the truth is I really am a city girl. I once thought I was wild and free, and could go days without seeing a Starbucks, or a Target. I was wrong. Or was I? Look at that pretty scene….
I was very excited when we finally found Mudd Lake Antiques. We had taken a few wrong turns ( thanks to google map) and was about to give up. I am glad we didn’t!
My dreams of a great photo shoot were dashed when my nerves got the best of me. I really feel akward in public with my huge camera in my hands. But still I ventured out with it. And captured This:
And this.
I managed to sneek one shot in. My only shot I took in the store. I regret that I wasn’t a bit more bold. Perhaps next time…
After a quick look at the pretty furniture…oh all the pretty furniture…. I attempted once more to take some photos, this time outside….
All I got was this…
But that’s not all he is, is he? He is gorgeous! And I am thankful he lets me drag him places, like this….
Bella and Caleb weren’t the least bit interested in me photographing them. See….
Sigh…
Darn my expectations.
Although it wasn’t all for loss. On a whim, we decided to head to the deMello’s/Hartford’s house, and spent a wonderful day having fun, drinking coffee, and relaxing. See…
I do love Saturdays like that, when you start out one place, and end up in another. It was a great day. One of my best!

GREAT shots, CAri! loved them all!!!
