I was having one of those kind of mornings today.
Lilani woke me up at a early fresh hour of 6. Determined to make the most of it, I got up, dressed, and made some coffee. A few moments later I realized that the little nagging pain in my tummy, was out to get me. I would proudly say that I have somewhat of a high pain tolerance, hmmm…or maybe I am just stubborn, and stupid…but never the less this level has gotten me through many icky situations. But soon the pain was real and reminding me of the indian food I devoured the night before.
Upon hearing of my ailiments, my sweet sister in law offered to take my kids for me for a few hours. She really is of the sweetest kind.
But I said, “Nah… it’ll be ok, Lili is about to go down for a nap. I’ll be fine.”
See my stupidity? Who turns down free childcare?
“Really? she insists,” I can take them, and you can go back to sleep.”
Stupidly, again I said no thanks.
My reasoning was this, and excuse me as I boast. All of my kids are fabulous. But as of late, the two older ones have been exceptionally obedient, and easy. I figured as soon as the little one was out, I would climb into bed, and take a mini nap myself.
I set my plan into motion. As soon as Lili was asleep, I set the kids infront of the tv. Told them I would be out of my room as soon as their cartoon was over. They eagerly complied to my instuctions of no hitting, no fighting, don’t answer the door etc., and I recieved a few, “oh sorry your tummy hurts mommy, feel betters, and wet sloppy kisses.”
As my head hit the pillow. I smiled.
Humpf. They are good. Really good. Look at me. I can actually take a nap in the middle of the morning if I so need it.
Then I drifted off…
I awoke suddenly to two voices whispering not as quiet as whispering should be, and the sound of a kitchen chair dragging across the kitchen floor:
Bella: “It’s up there. Behind that box.”
Caleb: ” Ok let me get it.”
Bella: “Be careful Caleb, you don’t want to get into trouble.”
Caleb: ” I can’t find the CHOCOLATE.”
Bella: “SHHHHHHH! You are going to wake up Mommy.”
Caleb: ” I can’t find it. Want anoder snack?”
This is when the mama enters, and takes these photos:
So um, maybe the monkeys need a bit more supervision. Especially when monkey A knows that there is chocolate in the snack cupboard. And Monkey B loves to climb and do Monkey A’s bidding.

I love it….funny how they think they are so sneaky!!!
I love it!
