Eating Habits

This girl likes to eat. She can eat and eat and eat and eat.

There is just one problem.

She will only eat three things:

Oatmeal

Avocados

Fruit Puffs

I have tried everything else. No luck. She turns her head away, and purses her lips in “NO THANKS MAMA!”

If I insist, she spits it out, and smears it in her hair.

Nice.

Or she just flat out gags like I offered her dirt instead of carrotts!

She is stubborn.

When she was in my belly, I had dreams of being one of those crunchy moms, making baby food from scratch, organic, pure. I envisioned my baby opening her little pink mouth in delight, while I spoon fed all that yummy goodness.

Ha!

If it aint green and cost a dollar a pop. She dont want it.

If it aint oatmeal. She don’t want it.

If it aint expensive food puffs. She don’t want it.

I’ve tried adding salt, spices, and even sugar to a variety of foods. Yes Sugar!

The baby still don’t want it!

Any idea in what I should do? I am running out of ideas. It is clear that my baby would rather starve herself than expand her eating horizons. Can a baby live on oatmeal and oatmeal alone?

  1. Have you tried giving her just a spoonful of a new food for each meal for several days? Even if she spits it up every time. It took Johan 7 days to get a liking for his first non-cereal food, and now he eats almost as much as I do! Good luck!

Crunchy mom?? keep trying, again and again and again…Keira finally ate a green bean after throwing them off her highchair for a month!! The more we give in…the more they own us!!!

Oh, friend, she’ll get there. Ivy was like that for a long time and now she eat ANYTHING! My advice {if you want it} is to let her lead. If you’re still breastfeeding, she is getting EVERYTHING she needs and the rest is just for fun.

    Love and miss you.
