I get asked all the time, “So how is the new house? “
Seriously people? Can’t you tell? I am still on cloud nine.
Life keeps going of course. I have been crazy busy with the house, with work, and driving the kids to and from school ( 3x a day ). These things seem to eat up most of my time, but every so often I just stop, and a slow smile spreads to my face…
I have my own house. My very own. Gush!
A few times now the kids and I have played outside and walked the neighborhood. It truly is lovely. Somehow we have been transported back to the 1950′s. Everybody here is so welcoming and kind.
I am looking forward to spring when the kids get to play more in the yard, we can start a little vegetable garden, and hopefully Michael can build a tire swing on one of our thirty trees for the kids. The thirty trees is a slight exaggeration- but not by much.
I have particularly been enjoying the hum of my own washing machine and dryer, the way natural light bursts into every room of our house- even on a cloudy day, and the way I can blast my music as loud as I want to!
I have been really proud of Michael. He is wonderful. The way he has transformed this place ( with little tools ) has been nothing short of amazing. We still have a long way to go as far as updates and repairs go, but everyone keeps telling us that our list will always be long.
I have a few more things to do to each room before I go on giving an official tour. But Keep posted! There is more loveliness to come!
